Mark Ungerer

Mark Ungerer is a Health Physicist Supervisor with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. He has been involved with radon regulation in Kansas since 2016 and supervises 6 direct staff members, 4 of whom have some role in radon enforcement. He currently serves on the NRPP Certification Council and Management Committee as the Certified States representative. His background is in Environmental Science, and he obtained his master’s degree from The Evergreen State College in 2015. In addition to radon, he supervises the Environmental Radiation, Radiological Emergency Preparedness, and Right to Know sections of Radiation Control. Mark currently resides in Topeka, Kansas with his wife and three children.
